The challenge: to improve operations and achieve substantial saving under central government pressure for efficiency and
budgetary cuts under new national rationalisation regime.

The solution: we reorganised the operations of the National Trust by consolidating response centres from 16 to 9, improved
emergency response time by 20%, and maintained 100% territory coverage. By renegotiating key supply contracts, outsourcing
non core functions and centralising purchase we delivered yearly savings in excess of £3m per annum.
